Newbury - Huf Haus

Overview

The Newbury project was another of our Huf Haus builds. The existing building sat within the slopping landscape in a similar way that the proposed building now sits.

Challenge

As well as the main building, the plot had a number of outbuildings within the tree protection areas due to be demolished. These works required careful consideration as a new access road had to be installed to allow for HGV traffic. This site needed our expert removal of the Asbestos for fire protection which lined the thatched roof of the existing dwelling.

The Eclipse Solution

Careful planning was required at the beginning of the project as we had to install a new access road and prepare for the new services. In order to install the road through the woodlands, without damaging the trees in the short and the long term, we used a tree root protection system, suitable to take HGV traffic.

In order to demolish the existing house, we had to remove the Asbestos lining the roof. Eclipse tendered the Asbestos removal on behalf of the client and by doing so optimised the removal costs.

The excavation and base preparation for the prefabricated basement from Germany was carried out with precision.

We also installed a foul water treatment plant and soakaways for foul and surface water.
