Challenge

This Huf Haus project overcame many pre-start challenges, as COVID-19 lockdown approached our Project Management team worked hard ensuring the project did not come to a halt.

The Eclipse Solution

They accelerated surveys, utility applications, crossover applications and ensured the pre-commencement conditions were fulfilled, ready to start with demolition. We ploughed on through to excavation and prepared concrete slab bases for the house and garage. With limited supplies available, our Site Team & Office team worked hard together sourcing materials. The project was completed as per the schedule. We utilised the synergy of the landscape design and the groundworks and prepared for the hard landscaping as part of our scope. Including a 10,000 l Rain Water Harvesting Unit (RHU). No excavated material was removed off site. We installed a ground bearing raft to passive house standards including earthing to DIN standards. The tolerance on the slab was +- 5 mm.

Outcome

Despite the challenges faced during the pandemic this project for delivered successfully as we were able to navigate our way around the supply issues and lockdown restrictions.
